Support the Brooklyn Star with Beer and Oysters

Coverage of the upcoming benefit in New York magazine

One of Brooklyn’s coolest southern restaurants (yes, that of the Dr. Pepper Sticky Ribs and ice cold Kool Aid) is temporarily out of commission due to an unfortunate fire. But you–yes, you!–can help Joaquin Baca and his crew get back on their feet. As this blurb in this week’s New York magazine explains, the Brooklyn Kitchen Labs (that’s me kissing the cow out front below) is hosting a fundraiser tonight to raise money for the cause. If helping out your fellow southerner isn’t incentive enough to cross the bridge (or go to Williamsburg), there’s also local beer, whiskey, brisket, oyster-shucking and hot dogs to coax your inner philanthropist.
