How to Spell Juleps with a G

A friend of mine who knows how much I love juleps (and especially julep cups) sent this to me earlier this week. At $1000 per cup, this Tiffany & Co. special edition collection is a bit out of my price range but when you consider that there are only 73 in circulation (1 for each of the 73 years since the mint julep has been recognized as the official drink of the Kentucky Derby), well, I guess that makes them extra special. The only catch: Buyers must be on site in Louisville this Saturday to claim his or her cup in person. For those of us who are more likely to be downtown than at the Downs, check out tomorrow’s post about the quintessential spots to visit on an NYC Julep Crawl. Until then, here’s a selection of commemorative cups to fit a more recession-minded budget.
